Trey Oakley ~ I work at the Y to make an impact in the community. The Y changed my life as a child and I hope through my involvement, that I can do the same for someone else.

CFO & Personnel Director

Holly Magid ~ I work here because… It feels great to be a part of something that is making an impact in our community in so many ways. We are changing lives and I see the difference we are making in people every day.

Director Youth Development

Jenn Roark ~ I work here because…I have the opportunity to hear other people’s stories, and help make their membership more affordable so they can focus on their personal health and wellness journey. Additionally, I have the opportunity to enrich the lives of our youngest members through our children’s programs.

Membership and Marketing Director

DeLee Scott ~ To work in an organization that puts the needs of our community first gives me a true sense of fulfillment that I haven’t had with any other career. I love knowing that what I do is what God would have me do!

Community Outreach Director

Sheila Bauer ~ I absolutely love helping people. Watching their faces when we at the YMCA have helped them to make a difference in their lives is a wonderful feeling. Knowing that when you have helped to make a change for the better in someone’s life is one of the best feelings in the world. That tells me we do and can make a difference. Our mission statement is being fulfilled thru spirit, mind, and body.

Aquatics Director

Matthew Hitechew ~ I am grateful to work here because it allows me the opportunity to be a part of a community that I care deeply about. I love the Y because I enjoy working with children of all ages. I love that I love my job!

Athletic Director

James Penley ~ Comes to us from the Beaufort County YMCA in South Carolina where he served in the same role. James is a native of Davidson County, NC and attended UNC Wilmington before beginning his work with the YMCA. He says, “I grew up loving sports, specifically football and baseball. I participated in other sports recreationally to stay involved. Sports to me is more than being active! It’s about team bonding and helping with life skills needed. It also gives kids a way to be part of something and have a sense of meaning."
