On Course for a Cause - 2nd Annual Marjory Williams Memorial Tournament - Presented by the Williams Family Foundation

When: October 17

Where: Granfather Golf & Country Club

  • 8:30 AM - Registration & Breakfast
  • 10:00 AM - Shotgun Start

Tournament Format:

The format is Texas Scramble (or Shamble). Each team member drives from the tee at each hole. The best drive for the team is chosen and each team member plays their ball for that point forward. The best ball from each team will be used and prizes will be awarded for the top gross scores and the top net scores with USGA handicaps used to determine the net score.

General Information:

The entry fee for the tournament is $200 per player (tax deductible except for $100 which is the value you receive by participating). The entry fee includes breakfast, lunch, favors, cart fees, practice balls, and an awards social after the tournament.

All tournament proceeds benefit the YMCA’s Scholarship Program. At the Y, no child, family or adult is turned away due to their inability to pay. We recognize that for communities to succeed, everyone must be given the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. When you give to the Y, your gift will have a meaningful direct impact in Avery County. In 2017, we anticipate providing $315,000 in scholarships to low-income families.
