Out of School Programs

Summer Day Camp will begin on June 1

To provide a safe and fun environment during the COVID-19 pandemic certain changes have been implemented this year.
  • Temperature checks will be performed before entering camp.  Anyone with a temperature over 99.1 will be sent home.
  • Campers should plan on attending the full week.  No partial weeks will be allowed at this time.
  • Campers will only swim one time per week.  Those swim days have not been decided yet.
  • Lunch will be provided daily courtesy of Avery County Schools. At this time, it's unclear if a menu will be provided.  If you have a child with food allergies, you may want to provide a lunch or an alternative as the Y will not have access to an alternative lunch.
  • All children will be required to have a reusable water bottle that is labeled with their child's name.
  • Space is limited and children will be placed in groups of 9 children to  per 1 adult Coundselor/Teacher with an adequate space to maintain distacing mandates.
  • Camp is only open to those in the Avery County School District and Williams Academy. 
  • There is no registration fee and no weekly fee.  We are funded by the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant which enables a no fee camp.
  • Children will maintain a 6 ft of distance at all times.
  • Children will be required to wash their hands upon entering the building.
  • All the above is subject to change and will be communicated out as changes occur. 
 Registration will be taken on a fist come, first serve basis.  Registration will be open on Thursday,5/28. If you have more than one child we will do our best to ensure that your children are at the same site.  You will receive an email in 24-48 hours from Playerspace.  Please complete that required information online to be considered enrolled.  This electronic process is replacing the 8 pages of paperwork that you previously had to complete.  You will need to pay that balance before you are able to sign up.

2) On the top of the page toward the righ side click on the basketball-like icon that says "Programs"
3) In the middle of the next page select "Summer Day Camp"
4) On the next page select the camp by grade-level your child(ren) will attend
Note - If you select "Summer Camp 3rd- 5th Grade" you can use the checkboxes to choose the weeks attending.
 
 If you have any problems, please contact Jenn.  Online registration is new for us, as is the integration with Playerspace/Campspace. Please be patient as we work our way through this process together.
