Camper in Leadership Training & Sixth Sense Teen Program

There is an exciting new camp program coming to Summer Day Camp 2017! Introducing our new Counselor In Training and Sixth Sense experience.

The purpose of the program is to reach out to middle school youth to:

  • Giving them a safe space to learn and implement leadership skills,
  • Further their faith,
  • Serve the community, and
  • Enjoy a summer of fun!

If someone you know has completed sixth, seventh, or eighth grade share the word of this unique experience with them! Our nine week C.I.T. experience will be broken down as follows:

  • Weeks 1-3 are C.I.T. training weeks that focus on building leadership skill sets, embracing the YMCA core values and creating devotions in the atmosphere of summer fun.
  • Week 4 focuses on using leadership skills and core values to reach out to the community through several service projects.
  • Weeks 5-8 offer an opportunity to those who have completed weeks 1-3 to mentor to our younger campers as Counselors In Training (C.I.T.s).
  • Week 9 revisits the importance of giving back and campers will participate in several additional service projects along with creating a devotion on what it means to serve our neighbors. The C.I.T. program runs Monday through Friday from 7:30 am-12:00 pm.

The Sixth Sense program runs 12:30 pm - 5:30 pm. Sixth Sense is designed for campers to partake in the usual summer day camp activities. Sixth Sense activities include camp games, group challenges, crafts, and swimming! We will also go for the occasional Friday hike.  You don't want to miss this life-giving camp!
